NEW FURBOLG RECRUITS JOIN HAVEN

My furbolg friend Modnahria has always been there to show the doings and don'tings of being a furbolg. Make friends, kill stuff, and steal cookies. The latter part is particularly important because we'd starve otherwise and our lovely round furry tummies would be a barren wasteland.
Modnahria said one day that we needed more furbolg recruits but that she was going away the next day to a Cookie Conference so it was up to me to deal with the rituals and questing for the furbolg disguise. I'd only done the ritual twice but I was sure that I could remember where everything was, and with a butterfly in my tummy, I remembered Yoshette saying that she was hoping to be recruited as a furbolg someday.

Modnahria, me
I set off in search of Yoshette and I eventually found her in the Ironforge Inn. She'd outdrunk a group of dwarves in a Dwarven Ale drinking contest and she still looked completely sober. I was secretly impressed and tiptoed up to her to whisper my proposition in her ear. After I managed to prise her face out of the Dwarven Ale jar with some liquid soap, Yoshette was really excited about getting her furbolg disguise, so we set off for Astranaar on the big birds.

Just after we set off, two other friends expressed excitement about the adventure - Tialee, and Arewn. They are very good friends of furbolgs as well and eventually we all met up at the Astranaar flight point. Because of furbolg secrets I'm not allowed to tell all the compulsory tasks that are set to furbolg wanabees but I can tell you that some of it involved rubbing my tummy. Modnahria says that this is important before we begin the quest as it lets the trialee become one with their inner furbolg.

At one point, as we were running through the Astranaar woods, I took off my armour and became one with nature. Someone poked my bottom with a twig and Yoshette said it was Arewn but I'm not sure. Anyway, it made my bottom itch so I put my armour back on.

A very nervous Yoshette
Tialee and Arewn were really excited by the prospect of becoming a furbolg. So was Yoshette but she was still slightly nervous and she hid behind me. Little good that did as I'm about as high as her knee but I gave her some cookies to give her courage and off she went to see the great and kind night elf to get the final part of the quest.

Courageous Yoshette with Tialee and Arewn

As we neared the end part of the quest trail, I stopped to make a short speech about being a furbolg and asked the group if they were definitely sure they wanted to be part of the furbolg secret society. Everyone was very excited but Yoshette took some time to contemplate (I think I heard a nervous parp but it could've been a bear treading on a duck). As the group gathered I explained how important it was to uphold the furbolg laws - making friends, killing things, and stealing cookies. Also, that rubbing your own tummy and other's tummies is a friendly way of saying, 'Hello, how are you?'.

Just before the final hurdle
After my small speech, Tialee and Arewn got really excited and ran up the twirly branches to get their furbolg disguise. It was fabulous to see that this meant a lot to them and I couldn't wait to see them transformed. Yoshette in the meantime was equally excited and to show this, she displayed her home-made BBQ gloves and gauntlets. 'It's for when we capture our first human, so we can eat him with burnt bits.' How thoughtful of her!

As Yoshette followed me slowly up the twirly branches we met a very excited Tialee and Arewn. They really looked comfortable in their furbolg disguises and ran around looking for cookies and nice things to eat.

Meeting Tialee and Arewn on the way up
I explained to Yoshette what she needed to do (I can't say as it's a secret).

She then disappeared behind the stone and came out as ...... a furbolg! Yay!

Yoshette the furbolg, with me Tialee and Arewn
We thought this would make a good photo opportunity so we could show Modnahria when she got back from her Cookie Conference so we all lined up and said 'RAWR!'. Yoshette also took the opportunity to show Tialee and Arewn her new BBQ invention and both of them were really excited and drooled with excitement!

Four furry furbolgs

Tialee was very excited!
We then decided to return to Ironforge and practice our cookie-stealing skills. First we picked on Brodan who is also a member of the Haven guild. Unluckily for him he didn't have cookies however we like him and we only licked him and waved a tin opener in front of him (because of his armour).

Terrorising Brodan
We then found a bot in the Auction House. We don't like bots so we didn't ask him if he had cookies - we just ate him.

Hcdc - bad bot!
Once our presence was known in Ironforge some other furbolgs came to help us find cookies. They were very nice and one of them was really tiny and cute! He was called Wootini. We noticed that one of the furbolgs had found cookies but she disappeared before we had a chance to ask her to share. Rawr :(

More furbolgs join in with cookie-stealing
It didn't take long for Tialee, Arewn, and Yoshette to get the hang of their new furbolg disguises. We terrorised all sorts of people in Ironforge but none of them had cookies. We ate them too. They tasted lovely BBQd.

Terrorising for cookies

At one point I thought it would be useful to use my Mechanical Yeti for extra stamina and 'RAWR!' however he just got scared and got his head stuck .... a night elf threated to feed Wootini to his cat, so we ate the cat and the elf.

We ate the night elf and the cat

Making friends, rubbing tummies, and cookie-stealing is all very hard for newly initiated furbolgs. Arewn went off to find cookies from elsewhere. Tialee, Yoshette, and me found a nice fire outside the Ironforge Bank and we had a quick snoozle before continuing.

Snoozling furbolgs
We then found another dwarf called Jayk who said he had no cookies either although we saw crumbles scattered around his feet. He did however, rub our tummies which was nice. To show our gratitude we only ate his arms.

Jayk - can you spot the cookie crumbles?
It was at this point that Yoshette said she needed to go back to her cosy home. She had a chocolate and cake eating competition to prepare for which was being held the following evening in the Stormwind Bakery. She very kindly gave us all free entry tickets before she hugged us all, rubbed our tummies, and showed us another of her inventions - a mega-light transporter. After watching countless sci-fi shows she'd managed to build one and off she zoomed upwards, into the nether, waving and promising to see us the following evening.

Yoshette and her mega-transporter
Just after Yoshette had gone, Tialee and I were met by Pathalion, a very handsome owlbeast who offered to help us hunt for cookies. We found a victim by the name of Stoeptegel who had no cookies to offer us. We chased him all around Ironforge so we could eat him but he kept slipping out of our grasp. As we were chasing, we all chose which bits we wanted to eat. Because Pathalion was helping us he insisted on having the eyeballs as they were the best bits. Who were we to argue with a handsome beast?

Pathalion, me, and Tialee, terrorising Stoeptegel
He tried to escape on his epic mount but we waved our tin openers in front of him so he was hypnotised.

Hypnotising Stoeptegel
Unfortunately for him, as he rode away, he fell in the Ironforge pit and Pathalion jumped down near him so he couldn't escape.

Stoeptegel falls in the pit
Tialee ran down after him quick as lightning and I followed her, and we managed to corner him at the end of the pit. We scared him for a while and then we realised we didn't have Yoshette's BBQ invention. What a shame. However we thought we'd open him with our tin openers and freeze him in the Winterspring snow, and save him for later.

Chasing Stoeptegel
Eventually though (and luckily for him), he managed to find some cookies at the bottom of his backpack. We sniffled at the bag before sharing the crumbles. Pathalion was disappointed he didn't get any eyeballs but he gladly took his share and rubbed his tummy happily.

Lucky Stoeptegel found cookies at the last minute!
Modnahria will be very proud of her new recruits.
RAWR!
